One of the new volunteers on the Dulwich OnView team is Edmund Saunders. Ed is a filmmaker based in East Dulwich who recently made a short film in under 48 hours. It was shot mainly in East Dulwich, and all for less than £10! Ed says, “I organised the film weekend to give my colleagues a break from making boring corporate videos and to give my friends and family a chance to get involved in the filmmaking process.” “To get the films started I wrote out the first lines of thirty novels and stuck them
Elvis, Edward Hopper, Jackson Pollock and New Orleans blues. American art and culture were celebrated at the Dulwich Picture Gallery’s March Late Opening to tie-in with the new Coming of Age: American Art, 1850s -1950s exhibition. Filmmaker and Dulwich OnView member Edmund Saunders captured the buzz and excitement of the evening on video. Looks like a fun time was had by all.

Like yourself, I am involved in a collaborative project based on an artist (fabulous surreal painter) who lives in the Marche region of Italy. Like yourself, the ideas have been home grown, just borne out of local people getting together to make something. Pietro works in oils, I work in water colour - both of us, unknowingling to each other, creating artwork that draws from a certain foundation. I am embarking on a project bringing his artwork to Dulwich. Ideas stage at the moment, paper thoughts thrown in

Very quick, gut reaction response, but would you consider doing a similar project in Italy (I'll pay for flights and accommodation, meals and materials)

Really enjoyed your film, especially the stocking on the back of the jacket. Nice touch, made me laugh early in the morning which is quite a feat. Surprised at the speed in which the film was made, the incredibly low cost and your collaborative approach to film making.
